BBC Bush House
ASWS completes the transformation of the former BBC world service buildings to form the new Aldwych Quarter redevelopment.
The Bush House refurbishment has transformed the 90 year old property while maintaining its architectural integrity, especially in respect of its external elevations with their distinctive steel fenestration pattern.
Hackney Town Hall
2017 saw the culmination of a near seven year project at Hackney Town Hall for ASWS. After consultation with Hackney Council and English Heritage an extensive refurbishment strategy was formulated. Working closely with the architect, Hawkins/Brown, and the main contractor, Osborne Ltd, we were able to provide a full refurbishment of the Grade II Listed neo-classical building.
Alexandra House is a grade-II listed building which has recently been converted to accommodate the expansion of St Paul’s Church of England primary school in Brentford, West London. A major part of the work to the Art Deco style building was the full refurbishment of over 70 steel windows and the manufacture of ten new windows.
ASWS is pleased to announce that they have completed the contract to undertake the full refurbishment of the 60 steel insert windows, including the decoration. We also replaced six heritage windows as well as completing specialist glazing of several very large curved laminated glass panels.
Bush House NWW
In 2016 ASWS returned to another London landmark, beginning work again at Bush House, this time the North West Wing. This project for ISg Plc, over nearly nine months, saw the full refurbishment of over 775 opening vents, including the removal of nearly 3000 pieces of film and a full overhaul of the original ironmongery.
ASWS worked very closely with the principal contractor, Square Meter, on the refurbishment and replacement of the windows at the Heals building, in Tottenham Court Road. We replaced timber, aluminium and steel windows on this project, as well as servicing and overhauling, including redecoration, of the existing steel windows.
