In 2016, we were appointed by a Joint Venture of Sir Robert McAlpine/Blue Sky Buildings to refurbish and reglaze the heritage façade to the rear of Selfridges and Co (Oxford Street). The work here involved matching the original blue ‘Armourclad’ painted panels to replace 133 broken and damaged panes. This involved a complex colour identification process, using the most modern of technologies, to produce a contemporary product to match the original, as closely as possible. Later in the project we were asked to manufacture two bays, in a window section, to match the original. We also completed the reglazing of the original louvre blades to the side elevation. All of this work was undertaken on mast climbers due to other works that were ongoing around the façade, with an ever changing and tight programme during the winter months.

“ASWS undertook installation and replacement of existing damaged steel glazing frames with glazing works all to match the existing facade. ASWS’s commitment and professionalism and general help to get the job done were second to none matching existing frames and glazing to almost exact details. ASWS met programme dates with ease including extra works thrown at them at the later stages. Their approach to coordinating/interfacing with other trades was refreshing and made the process of completing the works and removal of access equipment run smoothly. I would gladly recommend ASWS and would not hesitate to use their services again when the need arise.”
