Having worked at County Hall over 20 years ago, we were pleased to be once again invited back to work on such an iconic London building. KPS Partnership Limited selected ASWS to complete a full condition survey and then appointed us to complete the refurbishment of nearly 200 Grade II Listed windows and the installation of all new ironmongery to replicate the original aesthetic of the building.
Later that year we found ourselves once again working with KPS Partnership at County Hall; this time working on Level 3, for the refurbishment of 116 windows including the servicing of 261 opening vents and the installation of nearly 500 individual pieces of ironmongery with the original spring catches being polished and re-fixed. This phase also included some major repairs to the windows where rust had caused severe damage along with the requirement to manufacture a number of windows to replicate the original mid universal section; this involved the use of T-bar section and inserted panels to achieve an exact match to original sightlines.
